I had a fantastic time exploring the beautiful surroundings, with the York Minster just a short 10-minute walk away and the lovely Museum Gardens even closer for a peaceful stroll or picnic.

the family room was super comfy with 2 separate rooms which was perfect for us and the kids. breakfast was really lovely, lots of choices n presented well. the staff were brill with children and made us feel welcome. great location, just a short walk to most attractions in york. we enjoyed our stay overall!

but the bathroom could've been cleaner and it smelled a bit funky. also, there was a noisy bin truck early in the morning which woke us up.

The hotel was perfect for our family, especially with a young baby in tow. The breakfast was delicious and offered a wonderful variety. we thoroughly enjoyed our visits to Yearsley Pool nearby, making it easy to fit in some family fun while staying at the hotel.

My kids wished we had a few more family-friendly activities available on site.

The layout of the bathrooms is questionable, with sinks outside the toilet area and limited basics provided, such as only one toilet roll. Additionally, the rooftop bar was closed some days, and it was tricky to find parking, which is a short walk from the hotel. Breakfast charges seem over the top for limited choices, with complaints over quality and long waits. Also, the decor in some areas feels dated and could use a refresh.

excellent staff

staying at malmaison was a delight. the hotel is lovely and modern, and well situated near all attractions. the standard twin room was very quiet, with a cozy bed and a super shower. the rooftop bar was a highlight, offering fabulous views and a well-stocked selection. breakfast was top-notch too!
